Medical Support

The Home is served by several local GP Surgeries. Residents may keep their existing doctor if local, or transfer to one nearer the Home. We also receive the services of dentists, community nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, chiropodists, etc who all visit on request. Day care facilities may also be arranged.

We employ the dedicated services of an Activities Co-ordinator who plans and organises recreational activities within the Home. Such activities include social events such as afternoon teas, garden parties, picnics, tea dances, photographic parties, fashion parties and cosmetic parties. We have our own minibus and take trips out which include bus trips to places such as Southsea, the New Forest, Marwell Zoo and the theatre. We also visit places of childhood relevance or simply go for a walk into town or to the local park.

We provide pampering treats such as nail painting, facials and hand massage. A hairdresser visits once a week. Also available are a seasonal selection of arts and crafts including designing and making Easter bonnets, Christmas cards and Christmas stockings. We also play quizzes, board and memory games, read books, compile scrap books, sew and watch film shows.

Residents may visit church if they so wish, accompanied by a member of staff. We are also supported by local musicians and entertainers. We have a visiting church service once a month and ministers will also visit on an individual resident?s request.
